Guests have the benefit of a farmstay in modern, spacious, luxurious, well equipped accommodation, yet are close to the shops, restaurants and other activities Rhodes has to offer.

Kinmel is your gateway to the unspoiled splendour peace and tranquility that the Southern Drakensberg can offer. We are tucked away in the Eastern Cape Highlands, a mere 30 minute drive away from the Tiffendel Ski Resort.

We offer our guests a very child friendly environment with large lawns, 2 jungle jim's a small, safe, lovely mountain steam murmuring past the chalets . The accommodation we offer is modern, spacious, luxurious, 3 bedroomed chalets with 2 bathrooms, fully equipped for self catering. The chalets are fitted with lovely log fired fireplaces for those cold winter evenings. The patio doors lead onto a wide verandah from where you have a macnificent view of this part of the Drakensberg.

We offer self-catering, bed & breakfast or fully catered accommodation.

The nearly 1000 ha of farm offers our guests freedom, peace and tranquility far away from the hustle and bustle of todays fast paced life style.

The farm Kinmel and the surrounding area, is a nature lovers paradise. The magnificent mountains, pristine rivers and streams with it's waterfalls and rock pools, open spaces with crisp mountain air, offers the perfect getaway.

We offer something for everyone, from old to young, the more adventurous, or just wishing for some peace and quiet, it's all to be had.The activities we offer include inter alia:

4 X 4 ing. The Drakensberg mountains forms a perfect backdrop for fantastic 4 X 4 adventures. We offer guided as well as self drive trails for everyone from the beginner to experienced drivers. Our trails range from gravel roads through to grade 3 to 5 and even extreme if required. Whilst we do it in a ECO friendly manner we also strive not to damage your vehicle. Our environment and our families are very important to us.

Kinmel Mountain Retreat is the perfect gateway to the Tiffendell Ski Resort, a mere 30 minute drive away. We are one of the closest lodges to Tiffendel on the Rhodes approach. We are perfectly situated to stay over on your way to Tiffendell or back, or you can use it as an ideal base to do day trips to Tiffendell.

Wild rainbow trout abound in the Bell river making it a fly-fishermans paradise. Kinmel has its own private section of the Bell river where our guests can fish undisturbed.

Other activities include Bird watching, hiking for which we have a number of routes, San rock art, quad motorbiking for which we have our own tracks and bikes to rent, mountain biking, horse riding, alpine flowers during December to February, star gazing, picnicking, swimming in the pools,
