On the premises is a cosy 30 seater Restaurant with additional seating on the stoep and in the bar or braai area under the massive palm tree. The menu offers an array of home-cooked, hearty and affordable meals ranging from AAA grade matured beef, pizzas and salads to burgers, toasted sandwiches, fish and chicken dishes, with an occasional treat of fresh fish caught and cooked by John himself. A selected winelist plus great atmosphere makes the restaurant the focal point of the hotel. A Pub of laughter, good times and great memories. This fully stocked bar serviced by fantastic staff is a great place to relax, unwind and meet some locals. With live sport shown on the two plasmas and a big screen, a dart board and pool table and plenty of room to enjoy a steak off the retaurant menu, the cosy atmosphere offers great entertainment well into the night. The bar is situated far enough from the rooms if you would prefer a quiet evening in. AttractionsIn the nearby town of Hankey you can enjoy a game of golf on the renowned 9-hole, wind-free, golf course; visit the grave of Sarah Bartman or see the largest sun-dial in the Southern Hemisphere, amongst other attractions. A drive through the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve offers 120km of great scenic drives with magnificent views and a couple of country shops and restaurants to visit along the way. There are fantastic mountain biking routes, hiking routes and 4X4 courses all over the reserve. You may even be lucky enough to see baboons, monkeys, kudu or even leopard. Kouga Dam, built in 1976, is an awesome attraction to visit; you can go and see the dam from the top and there’s a lovely picnic area at the foot of the wall. The nearby town of Loerie hosts the Nartjie Fest annually in September. It is a great outing with loads of food stalls, fresh veggies from the farmers, live bands and other great attractions for the whole family to enjoy. Port Elizabeth has an array of attractions ranging from a trip to SeaWorld, to the nearby Addo Elephant Park, a casino, boat trips to Bird Island, scuba diving and a trip on the Apple Express narrow gauge steam train takes you right back to Loerie. • From PE drive on the N2 westbound (towards Humansdorp/Cape Town).
• Take the R331 exit (Hankey sign posted).
• Drive 30 km until you reach the town of Hankey.
• Drive through Hankey on the R331 for another 14km which will lead you into Patensie.
• The Ripple Hill Hotel is located in Paul Ferreira Street and is well sign posted within Patensie.
From Humansdorp/Jeffreys Bay/Cape Town:
• From Humansdorp take the R330 (which exits from the N2) and head towards Hankey.
• Entering Hankey, you will reach a 4-way stop, turn left.
• Drive through Hankey on the R331 for another 14km which will lead you into Patensie.
• The Ripple Hill Hotel is located in Paul Ferreira Street and is well sign posted within Patensie.
